Hi, my name is Angela and I'm a failed-several-times-over weight loss blogger.
Some history:
1981 - Born, 8 lbs, 6.5 oz.
1986-1987 - Perfect attendance at Mrs. Phoenecie's kindergarten class. She still remembers me. We've had lunch together recently.
1988-1989 - Pretended to be sick to avoid going to school in second grade because kids were mean to me.
1992-1995 - Middle school. It's hell for everyone, isn't it?
1999 - High school graduation. A grand adventure, a chance to reinvent myself at college. The first time I'd ever been around so many people who had no idea who I was.
1999-2003 - The college years... so many dieting hazards. I bought diet pills from eBay, abused Slim Fast to the point of starvation, followed Atkins religiously... but every semester, finals would roll around and I'd pass only by pulling all-nighters on M&Ms and Mt. Dew.
2003-2004 - Corporate America and living at home steadily sapped my will to succeed.
2004-2010 - JAPAN. I lived in Japan for six years. Six amazing years. There's a lot to say about it, but for the purposes of this timeline, suffice it to say that my weight fluctuated wildly while there.
Apr 2010-Feb 2011 - A sudden and unexpected departure from Japan left me incredibly depressed; so depressed that I gained 60+ pounds in nine months.
I was miserable and not likely to be able to pull myself out of it... so on February 9th, I began the long process of weight loss surgery.
January 23, 2012 - The day my life changed! I had a sleeve gastrectomy with Dr. Gabrielsen at Geisinger Hospital, Danville, PA.
From then through the fall, I lost almost 100-pounds. ALMOST. And then I regained... and lost a bit... and just hovered. Hovered at 90-pounds-ish lost. Where's the joy in that?
I have 120-pounds left to lose, and I want to do it clean.
Let's roll.
